Kelly Boykin has always loved the written word and, throughout her life, has used it as a means to deal with the emotional pain she suffered because of childhood sexual abuse. Her writing has been published in a national magazine, and she has appeared as an expert on two television talk shows, whose subjects were sexual addiction. Ms. Boykin is the mother of two beautiful daughters, a business owner, entrepreneur, and author living in Middle Tennessee. Her and her oldest daughter founded the non-profit organization "Speak Up" to help victims and survivors of sexual abuse, allowing them to have a voice and to heal by speaking up. She grew up in Arizona with five brothers, her amazingly strong mother, and her step-father, who she calls dad. Ms. Boykin continues to write and is authoring her second book, which she hopes to release in the Spring of 2012.
LIVING IN BALI is more than just a pretty picture book, though the lush photography by Reto Guntli is superb. Some of the bad advice she gives includes suggesting you move to New York; courting gallery owners like her with flowers, limos, lunch, or buying art from her shows. (If you want to be a famous artist, move to New York, go to lots of galleries, talk to lots of people. Art is taken more seriously there than anywhere else"
I'm sure there are a lot more infuriating gobbledygook statements in this book but I don't feel like wasting my time finding them. It helps to look nice, and dating a famous artist doesn't hurt either. John is impressive.. . I am blessed to have read this book.. excellent book is me in good condition, full satisfaction. Even if you live in nyc, as I do! Well, even if it is only in your dreams! While there is some overlapping with other asian style publications from Taschen, they are mostly all very refreshing, as they include new shots and more indep
