KATE BEATON grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada. She earned a bachelor's degree in history and anthropology at Mount Allison University. She presently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
Save your money and pretend it doesn't exist.. Other licensed titles in hardcover format do not cost this much. There is no reason this couldn't have been a $5.99 double issue, other than to exploit die-hard fans. Not even the fact she acknowledges how stupid and shallow her “passions” are can make up for her annoying behavior. The text is divided into useful sections grouped around the major historical sections of the City, beginning with the original city walls, and then (among others) the Capitoline, the Forum, the Palatine, the Colosseum, and other areas including the Aventine, Trastevere, and the Vatican, to the areas outside the City, including the catacombs and aqueducts. As a scientist and practicing Christian he handles the creationist/evolution debate nicely.
